About the event
Fresh off of opening for Tyler Childers when he makes his way to us and hailing from the foothills of Appalachia, Scott T Smith’s sound was shaped in the mountains of West Virginia, where Saturday mornings filled with classic doo-wop and American standards left him with a style that feels timeless and deeply rooted. Backing him is The Hurricanes, a lineup of accomplished multi-instrumentalists bringing decades of touring, songwriting, and recording experience to the stage.
On drums is Dani Markam, a Louisville-native percussionist known for her genre-crossing style and electrifying performances alongside artists like Childish Gambino and Tune-Yards. Aaron Bibelhauser adds rich storytelling and instrumental depth as an award-winning songwriter whose credits include Dale Ann Bradley, Balsam Range, and Del McCoury — including “Blue Collar Dreams,” the International Bluegrass Music Association’s 2017 Song of the Year.
